1. Functions: Advising the leaders of the Authority on State management of environmental protection in the EPZ - IZs.
2. Duties:
2.1. Organizing the appraisal and approval of environmental impact assessment reports for projects in EPZs and IZs according to provisions of laws.
2.2. Receiving registration and certifying environmental protection plans for those subject to registration in EPZs and IZs according to provisions of laws.
2.3. Organizing the evaluation and approval of detailed environmental protection schemes; confirming simple environmental protection scheme of projects in EPZ - IZs in accordance with laws.
2.4. Organizing inspection and certification of the completion of environmental protection works in service of project operation period for investment projects in the EPZs and IZs according to provisions of laws.
2.5. Coordinating in mobilizing forces to respond to and overcome environmental incidents in the EPZs and IZs; waste management; groundwater exploitation and collection of environmental protection fees. Resolving feedbacks on environment among the investment projects in the EPZs-IZs and coordinating with related units to solve the feedbacks on environment with individual organizations beyond the scope of EPZs-IZs.
